Only early December, but
the Lake District, as elsewhere, is already yielding good winter mountaineering
conditions. Five of us skied what you could call the ‘Helvellyn Integrale’
yesterday, travelling from Dunmail Raise to Dollywaggon Pike followed by the
various tops along to and beyond Helvellyn, finishing with a great descent off
Clough Head. Just marvellous.
